WELCOME
Hi Tech Internationals airboats are flat-bottomed vessels propelled
forwards by an aircraft-type propeller and powered by an aircraft or
alternatively an automotive engine.
The engine and the propeller are enclosed in a protective cage that prevents
objects, e.g. tree limbs, branches, clothing, beverage containers, or
wildlife, from coming in contact with the whirling propeller, thus avoiding
damages to the vessel and traumatic injuries to operators and passengers.
Steering is accomplished by forced air passing across vertical rudders.
Airboats do not have brakes and are incapable of travelling in reverse.
The characteristic Hi Tech International flat-bottomed design of the
airboat, together with the fact that there are no operating parts below the
waterline, permits the vessel to be easily navigated through shallow swamps
and marshes, in canals, rivers and lakes as well as on frozen lakes. The
airboat's design makes it the ideal vessel for flood and ice rescue
operations, because of the Teflon® liner which protects the hull against
damage and abrasion.
The closed cell filling and the aluminium sandwich construction of the hull
ensure self floating with any weather and sea condition.
The sound produced by an airboat's propeller and engine can be loud; the
majority of the sound is produced by the propeller. Hi Tech International
has significantly reduced the sound that the airboat produces through new
designs and modern technology. In fact, the airboats engines are equipped
with mufflers and multi-blade carbon-fibre propellers that greatly minimise
the sound emitted by the airboat.
Sizes are available from 10 to 45 feet with 4 strokes Euro 4 motors, diesel
or gasoline.
